morsters airbag delete mod
just gone for the sti seats myself and need to do the resister mod! would it be safe if i chopped the airbag plugs off the seats as they will be fitted to a classic; just want to no if chopping them will deploy the airbag ect ect thanks

You mean taking the seats out? Disconnect the battery first leave it for 10mins.
As for putting seats in, if theres no "resistance" ie the mod, or the plug, it will just make the airbag light come on. |
old are out and new are in what i was thinking of doin is chopping the airbag plugs off the old wrx seats so i can solder the risisters onto oem plug then plug back into the yellow cable, just saves buyin 2 new plugs also is it safe to chop plugs off wrx seats cheers

Fairly confident neither car had seatbelt pre-tensioners let alone seat airbags, hence no need to plug the seats wiring in to anything. |
Mine is a uk 2003 wrx, the oem seats have airbags in them, i swapped them for jdm sti7 seats and as far as i know the newage sti seats have no airbags? so i had the airbag light on the dash pemantly so the yellow airbag plugs off the oem seats had to be chopped off and risister solderd on then plugged in to eliminate light or its a mot failure??
