Question for you all
What's the procedure for draining the air con before disconnecting it .
I realise I can just loosen the connections and ven I to atmos, how dodgy is this, is it dangerous, am I right in saying its not legal

Thanks

LET ME GET THIS RIGHT???

You are worried about venting something to the ATMOSPHERE.:rofl::mfart::mfart:

It's not legal to vent atmosphere but if system has a Leak not much to stop it going to atmosphere
Also make sure it's R134 will have a sticker
Or find a garage will a charge system and do a deal

Not that I did this (of course) but I did hear of the undo bolt run away technique!

If you do that be warned about the UV dye/lubricant that sprays all over the engine and garage wall (again this is 'not' first hand experience!).

Pmsl at Big E ya bugger

Cheers for tip nick . Almost sounds like your speaking from experience :-)

Think I will ask my friendly garage to pop around

Definitely not from experience as it's illegal to vta!

Why do you need it de-gased?

I'm removing everything from engine bay,
Is there a way of taking it all out without degassing ?
I'm confused

Kwikfit will drain the system for you free of charge

You can unbolt the compressor and the pipe will allow it to seat on the inner wing
