C. J. 17-12-2011 12:07 PM

Dont take it the wrong way but
Why , not as if where going to drive the track !

Skullfudge 17-12-2011 12:27 PM

??

I assumed that most of us are interested in cars / performance and that most watch Top Gear, and that many would find the complete listing of some interest.

Subaru's are also included and would also indicate what cars share similar performance.

:)

C. J. 17-12-2011 12:54 PM

But there on the top gear site if you need them !

Crowman 17-12-2011 12:56 PM

Blimey , a fiat 500 Abarth is quicker than some real performance stuff.
Are these all standard cars Clive

Cj, I'm interested in how spurs will do this week end, it's not like I'm ever going to play for them

C. J. 17-12-2011 01:07 PM

You never now

Crowman 17-12-2011 01:11 PM

I would struggle to get into my under 11,s side now :-)

Skullfudge 17-12-2011 01:24 PM

Yes Crowman. Cars are as you would buy them mate.

CJ Every bit of media (pics / footage / links / info), in The SES is from "somewhere else".

Why is this case different mate ?

Tomma 17-12-2011 01:40 PM

shame the cars have to get over a speed bump as that Caparo T1 destroyed that leaderboard!

worzel 17-12-2011 01:41 PM

Sorry Chris but you've lost me with your comment tbh!

Yes you could get the info elsewhere if you wanted it, but I would have done the same thing and shared it on here. It's just what you do?

Mad Paddy 17-12-2011 03:14 PM

would like to see the gumpert bigger brother on the track, just to see
would it match the v8atom.

There's a Special on 28th December, think its one of those road trip type affairs in India this time.....

new series starts January some time i believe

Crowman 17-12-2011 05:49 PM

Cant wait for new series, Love it

Scooby O'Neill 17-12-2011 05:55 PM

I think the road trip is in Japan this time after clarkson did his boo boo on the one show he flew out to Japan I think to do a top gear show

I must be wrong then ,but cant see anything in the list as different circuits will suit different cars . Take them to ten Curcuits and your get ten different results .
As said in the first post don't take it the wrong way , but it seems you all have .

majorscooby 17-12-2011 08:46 PM

They have one labled as "Our car" above the Fiat 500 Abarth ,Cant remember what that was??? Anyone?

Skullfudge 17-12-2011 09:14 PM

Never took it the wrong way CJ, it just never made any sense?, in the same way your last post didn't?

Never mind :)

Nige 17-12-2011 09:41 PM

Evo 8mr320 1m26 was up against the WR1:twisted:

Moley_WRX 18-12-2011 12:45 AM

You/we can drive the Top Gear track, just not cheap (£300ish)

Skullfudge 18-12-2011 10:42 AM

I have always wanted to so a few laps of the track Gary and been aware people can drive around it.
Would be good to see what it compares to.

Moley_WRX 18-12-2011 01:23 PM

Plans Motorsport can organise it IIRC

Skullfudge 18-12-2011 01:46 PM

Cheers Gary

scixer6r 18-12-2011 05:12 PM

Would be good if they did a modded version as well ,just to compare what the lower bhp cars could really do.

Skullfudge 18-12-2011 05:14 PM

A Subaru knockout would be great fun !

Moley_WRX 18-12-2011 05:27 PM

The MLR did a sprint there a few years back, might be worth seeing if it can still be done?

kartingsteve 18-12-2011 06:05 PM

JC Dont take it the wrong way but he just thought it was a good Idea,That what the site is about.

There are many quicker that mine now mate. I may of been up there at one point but lots now. As RCM have mentioned many times bhp means nothing at all. It's how the car drives and the power it delivered that is the goal.

Very true statement as I have found out many times.

The one place I have always wanted to lap the P1 is the Top Gear Track as we can relate to that venue and compare to other cars.
I'm on the case at the moment and looking into it.

Not sure if thats the Aventime thing that Hongkongfooi mentioned, or their homebuilt eco car? (the Hammerhead iEagle Thrust... whatever it was!)

And yes, I would love to see a comparison between modded cars, especially with a consistent driver, just see the difference between a standard car, the same car with more power and standard suspension, modified suspension and standard power... etc.

EDIT: Just checked, Hongkongfooi is spot on, that time was their tweaked Aventime!

Tomma 19-12-2011 01:12 PM

Would be interesting to see exactly how much it costs for the 2 hours there especially with the word 'from' in front of that £199!

The only other place i could find was for a whole day with lunch etc at £1995 plus Vat per car!!

Hey, that is great news, John. :yeah: Does that possibly mean we've got a chance to see at this one as well: http://www.p1woc.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=28753 ? Would be just sooooo great if I could meet you, at least once. (sorry, Clive, off topic :))

You would enjoy John's company Mum.

If James Bond had a brother, it's John :)

I would LOVE to see him in a Tux standing beside an Aston LOL

Skullfudge 19-12-2011 01:39 PM

I've just started a thread in The Woc to gauge interest on a day at Dunsfold and there are a few right up for it.

Not sure if it's a case of "more cars there are the cheaper it becomes"?

When I get some time I will look into it.

Lol, makes me even more interested in meeting him now, Clive. So, John, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease, do me the favour.

Tomma 19-12-2011 01:42 PM

I'm sure there'd be people on here interested, the place i saw was a maximum of 25 cars i think as it was only one car at a time because of the figure of 8 crossover layout of the track itself.....

Was this £199.99 each mate?

Nope sorry this was on the site that had it advertised for £1995 plus Vat for the whole day! i'll try find the link for it, i'm sure it was advertised as a private track day which is why the price is so expensive!

reading around in various forums it seems that Plans motorsport use the track to test customer cars once they've done geo setups etc but they also do the driver training i think Moley posted the link to above which is how you actually get to drive the track yourself but not sure whether it would be your own car or not....

the only other way i've seen is the supercar experiences where you get 4 laps in an r8, aston, lambo etc...... for about £90

the first option seems the best day but also the most expensive by far!! approx £2400 quid for up to 25 cars..... someone's making a few quid out of it!

I've still got some Christmas shopping to do so will pop into a building society with a sawn off and treat us all!

Skullfudge 19-12-2011 04:01 PM

LOL !

I could contact Michelle who runs the MLR.
I believe they hired the track

Tomma 19-12-2011 04:20 PM

That would probably be a safer option!

Kerstin,

I think Clive's been at the Babycham again. I'm more like Jabba the Hutt standing next to a Trabant...

It will all depend on how well my car is when it's back on it's feet, plus it will need to be run in as well. Hopefully running in will be done by Jan end so we'll have to see.

Cheers

The name's Boy, Fat Boy:norty:

:-D Lol, Boy, Fat Boy :-D, I never saw Jabba the Hutt standing next to a Trabant. :-D So I'm sure it would be worth a look. :yeah: :-D

Anyway, wishing you all best luck with your car. Hopefully it will all run according to plan. :-)

Moley_WRX 19-12-2011 07:47 PM

I'd definately be up for it

Guy B 21-12-2011 03:27 PM
