CDF Droplinks

Gimpy had a knocking noise on the front, so he decided to change to Whiteline droplinks and this is what we found on inspection of the CDF items

The bushes had totally warn in no time at all and have marked the ARB

Steve_PPP 10-10-2011 08:31 AM

i assume you've given them a good cleanup as they don't even look that old?

Anger 10-10-2011 09:06 AM

No thats how they cane off... Jimmy fitted them a few months ago

why im giving the warning

worzel 10-10-2011 09:37 AM

Jimmy Strikes Again!

I am tempted to get the baffled sump checked that he did for me, it sounds like everything he's touched breaks!

Anger 10-10-2011 10:19 AM

There correct for the car and fitted correct... You get what you pay for ;)

C. J. 10-10-2011 02:52 PM

Did jimmy supply & fit or just fit as asked by steve ?

Anger 10-10-2011 02:56 PM

I think Steve supplied them as he has been in contact with Chris who just sent new bushes... But we changed them to whiteline items yesterday

To think that was just from road driving

C. J. 10-10-2011 03:06 PM

so to clear it up , jimmy hasn't done anything wrong and the warning is that CDF Drop links are crap ?

jura11 10-10-2011 04:20 PM

I'm using these at front, probably worth replace these for Whiteline, bloody hell

As in other areas of life, its the quality of bush that matters.
There is cheap soft bush that wears and becomes slack and then theres a harder bush that stays tighter for longer. The machining by cdf looks fine they just need to invest in better quality bush ;).

In fairness, it was me that mentioned Jimmy.

Hi girls,

Last week driving in the dark coming home from work doing doing 70mph round a bend on a carridgeway the car made a "clonk" noise and moved towards the left. Felt like the tyre had gone .

Looked under the car and found the drop link at a rather odd angle and resting direct on the ARB.

The damage is marking the ARB and the arms slightly.

The drop links machined are great but as has been said the bushes are very soft. Also the spacer and large spacers are very soft material. One of the large spacers were almost bent in half.

As for Jimmy fitting. It was my request to get him to fit them on my behalf. So no fault towards Jimmy.

May time Steve. Didn't touch them for a clean up. To be honest didn't even know Angus took the photo or this thread to be honest.

As Angus has said.

To be fair Chris did send me x2 new bushes FOC but they looked the same etc so went Whiteline matching my rears.

Quote from Passion Ford : "Just my 10p, I did have flo-flex on the front of my Saff, and was a vast improvement on the knackered rubber ones. Replaced them with Powerflex all round and that made a 100% improvement on the flo-flex ones"

one of the reasons why we stick with 3x bush/alignment options - Whiteline, SuperPro and Powerflex

they all have the range, quality, expertise and back-up (unlikely but if the need arises) to keep pretty much everyone of our customers happy and we have the confidence that the product we supply does the job first time!

interesting to see you have SuperPro in that list. Seen the ad's but not heard about results. I was kinda putting them in the FloFlex bracket, as SuperPro are good value. Iwill consider them more seriously in future.

SuperPro are an Australian company that have been around for years but in the past they only ever really advertised to the off-road 4x4 and classic type guys as all of their "modern" production went direct to another Australian company - Whiteline..............
once W/line were under new masters and moved the bulk of their production out of Australia due to higher costs, etc. then S/Pro were left with a huge range and no market hence they are now (and have been for the last 4-5yrs) quite aggressive in the modern/performance market

be careful as there is another bush company with a similiar name but they are simply cheap copy rubbish (IMO)
