Taking dash and heater matrix out.
 
Well im gonna start taking the dash and heater matrix out when the weather gets better so i was wondering if anyone has done it before or if anyone has any hints and tips how to do it, i know its abit of a pig of a job to do but its gotta be done :-( oh its on a classic too if that makes any difference :-) are there any hidden bolts etc etc

Finally got the dash out, only took 3 sodding hours with alot of swearing, wasnt getting the dash out itself it was sorting the loom and the blower pipes :-( just got to wait for the matrix to turn up now

Well all done and working fine, got to say if anyone its thinking about doing it its alot easier to pay someone else to do it, its a total pig of a job and not one i want to do ever again :-(

Its a complete bitch for sure.
Not done one on mine, but did help someone do one.
As you say, loom is a pig.

I had ther pleasure of doing one on a merc 190, now thats one you never want to do.

Best tip is to take pics of stuff that you may forget.
Took a whole weekend.

Took ages, put it all back together and prayed i hadnt missed anything, anyway started her, turned the blowers on and................................nothing lol started to panic abit then realised i hadnt connected the matrix plugs, i remembered everything else apart from a slightly vital plug lol luckly i managed to get to them from behind the stereo, filled up the coolant and everything was fine, took 1.5 liters of coolant so it must of been a bad leak lol
