Kerstin 26-01-2012 03:30 PM

Oh dear, this thread has been busy since yesterday. If I understood it correctly I now have a room in Jackie's hotel which is just fantastic. :yeah: I'm soooo happy about it although also a bit sad because this has become possible only because others have cancelled their rooms. I'm really sorry about the trouble you lot had because the group is now splitting but fortunately it seems as if everything has eased up again now. Let's all look forward to a great time. I can't wait to be in the hotel with you lot and look forward so much to the nice banter. It was so enjoyable last year although I only spent a short time with you there. Can't wait to try the food you are all praising so much either. :more:

@ Worzel: Steve, you're doing a brilliant job. Many thanks for all your hard work.:doubleup:

worzel 26-01-2012 03:42 PM

Thanks Kerstin, that's very kind.

It will be a great trip at the end of the day. It's great staying at Jackies for sure, you will love it there.

I am soooooo looking forward to tucking into a plate of Beef Olive and Veg, with a nice frothy stein of either Bitburger or maybe even some of that lovely Erdinger Wheat Beer!

Happy days indeed :ok:

However there may be something else to replace it...

You do however run the risk of blowing your car up rushing down there :sadnod:

Remember, it's a bank holiday weekend, it will be busy all weekend. Friday IMHO won't be any different this year.

You can always fly down with Nige though, while the rest of us cruise down there :drive:

Steve mate,

It was very unfortunate with what happened to yours the first year but your scoob is now sorted.

Personally I cant see the point of having 400+ horses and only using 10 of them??

One of the best things about the trip for me is having a laugh on the way and on the way back.

Not being board out your brains driving at 70mph.

I personally think it will be near on impossible to keep everyone together being as there are so many of us.

Perhaps it would be better to have a slow and an even slower group.

Anger 15-02-2012 05:38 PM

I prefer to get there, have a beer and relax :)

Crowman 15-02-2012 05:40 PM

I just want to get their in one peice.
Steady 80 mph for me

Ian, 400 horses and only using 10 has got nothing to do with it really mate :nono: This year there will be lots of people who will be going for the first time. You know what it's like the first time you go down there, I will be doing what I can to keep them together, the same as I have every year.

It won't be like when people just piss off and leave others at the side of the road broken down. As some people have done in previous years.

We will cruise down at 80-85 ish, the same as last year and the year before.

You can crack on, if you don't want to go with the main group, that's your choice. I can't see what the issue is really.

I like the option really. May 80/85. Sept 90/100. I'm crap as you lot have found out with my directions. I do like to have a blatt though when we see a Porker or such like. Thing is I'm still lost at the end of the blatt

We will sort It out no probs it will still be a fantastic laugh. We dont want three groups going there or back. Newbies need looking after on route & I don't mean lots of toilet stops eighther ! You will be left behind top gear style. When my turbo bust I had friends there to help & I will do the same for others. Hopefully nothing will happen that way this year. :EVO:

Scooby_Greg 15-02-2012 06:39 PM

With the revised speeding rules in France introduced a few weeks ago I'll be doing Driving miss Daisy speeds!

Top bananas mate, that's what it's all about :-D

There was never any intention of Miss Daisy drives to Germany. It's a case of looking after the group, watching you disappear after the porkers, GTR's, Lambo's etc and waiting for that "where the fook am I" phone call

It'll sort itself out, it always does :ok:

I have put Ian's post down to him having a sugar rush or something
