Scott.T 22-01-2016 11:54 AM

Is that the same as the driveshaft float that can be adjusted where the shaft enters the diff.

scooby doo 22-01-2016 11:57 AM

Similar Scott but the gears have worn so need to be replaced ,

Can't anyone run a courteous and professional business these days? :(

Fair enough if they haven't been able to fix the problem, but using a customers car (which is clearly mint) as a daily runner for their staff is just bang out of order.

Totally agree - that's extremely bad. Whilst I appreciate they have to test drive it to see if the fault is cleared - using it everyday as a daily runner is just bang out of order?

Can you not demand another company fault finds, and then the charge goes back to the original company?

Hope you get this sorted as it was such a mint looking project.

Ryan :ok:

****ing hell.

I was thinking about this after our pm exchange and I'd assumed no news was good news. Clearly wishful thinking.

I've had to return a used car with a fault, so if you need any pointers, let me know. I got quite familiar with the application of the Sale of Goods Act!

Might be worth speaking to your local trading standards office. I had a problem with a dodgy purchase once and they sorted everything pretty quickly.

scooby doo 10-02-2016 12:46 PM

Cheers for replys, the car is a good one it's the

thepieman 10-02-2016 06:04 PM

Go get it and take it somewhere worthy, it looks such a sound car ( other than the fault) and you've spent so much on it already.....

Thats out of order i would go down and take the car without paying the bill considering what they have done with it and used it as a daily run about for them it doesnt take that long to fix a simple problem and are we talking about SVA Imports ?

Scott.T 10-02-2016 11:27 PM

tbtstt 12-02-2016 11:42 AM

Not checked up on this thread for a few weeks, gutted to see that things aren't going well for you (or the car by the sounds of it).

Hope you can get things sorted.

You're not being unfair at all mate.

You paid for something that you haven't got. Wanting rectification or a refund is perfectly reasonable behaviour in my book.

Good luck with it.

thepieman 12-02-2016 02:31 PM

Can you not get them to put it back to how you purchased it (given that your fitted parts are still on there too) and let you take it to a specialist for inspection, report and or repair?

What exactly is the fault you are trying to sort out?

iPond 12-02-2016 04:57 PM

This is really ****ty and a shame as it looked a cracking project... feel for you. If you do go for a refund make sure you get back all the parts you fitted if you can, you must have spent a small fortune already!

Hope you get a good outcome.

Gutted for you to go through all of this.. Could you not take it a specialist to get it diagnosed and rectified properly and get them to foot the bill?

or ask for a partial refund due to the fault and be done with them. as its such a nice tidy example seems a shame, money spent with a specialist to rectify would be well spent as its only going to go North in value,

I know a guy who has an ex prodrive gearbox builder working for him 1 day a week ;)

Hope it all gets sorted and you somehow manage to keep her.

scooby doo 12-02-2016 08:07 PM

Well il be there tomo so we shall see ,

Mortster 13-02-2016 08:38 AM

I've know that guy too, he came to buy a bonnet off me, and just happened to have a full wrc gearbox in his van! I think I've got his card somewhere.

scooby doo 13-02-2016 04:42 PM

This project has come to end unfortunately.

Banstead Stig 13-02-2016 05:00 PM

That's a real shame mate. :(

scooby doo 13-02-2016 05:08 PM

Yea gutted

thepieman 13-02-2016 10:52 PM

That's a shame Benji, especially with all the parts you had sourced and the direction you was going with it.....

Guess your on the look out for another now?
