No mate JRM are stll looking for it :cuckoo: No more power just zircotec ceramic coated for safety

Anger 12-02-2011 04:01 PM

You still havnt told us what it made with the Black on tho ;)

Nige 17-02-2011 09:19 PM

Turbo fitted today + new Miltek & V-band elbow & downpipe May not mean much to the Scooby guy's. The V-band elbow & downpipe is like trying to find a cheap 22B so very hard to get. Still not up & running due to oil line delivery. Hell are makeing me up some braided line's & are due tommorow. Then will have to wait for mapping. :drive:

Nige 18-03-2011 07:14 PM

Dave Rowe hits the sweet spot

A good day for the Evo @ JRM. Full tank of juice, Dave Rowe , James Rumsey & my car. All set to go by 11am. We set about sorting the previous map out . Once on the move the car performed well & it just got better. The sound of the new Miltek is exactly what i was after. The whistle from the new Turbo is fantastic. The new turbosmart dv made some silly noises at 1st until i wound it's neck in. Anyway to say im pleased is an understatement. The guy's who ive been to Germany with before will tell you my car didn't hang about. Well now it's a different animal. Just remember my car is a 2 litre This was done on 97ron petrol {just to be safe when we go to the Ring} 3bar map sensor {with a 4bar it would make more} & my fpr set at 3 bar. Turbo running at 2 bar. You will see a dip at the top the driver Paul Egerton took his foot off the gas a tad early.

The power is at the wheels. The 1st pic is were my old turbo was last year. Overlay to my new turbo.

Hongkongfooi 18-03-2011 07:23 PM

Excellent Nige....an accident free day and good figures!

What will that be at the flywheel then (for all us Normal subaru people)

old93ra 18-03-2011 07:27 PM

Nice results...bet that fly's, I've had an Evo5 that ran about 450/60 and that was pretty ballistic....never done a RR with it, it was mapped by Mark Shead on the road. So the figures from his arse dyno :-D

Nige 18-03-2011 07:32 PM

Bum dyno say's Fooking fast but remember ive not been in anything quick for a while. Depend's on how you work it out + 22% + 24% there is another one but im not to botherd as it drives better than i thought it would. I cant stop smiling tbh. My plan worked. Nobody as far as i know has run this turbo on a 2litre so it was a gamble. Im off in the morn for an early run over my old bike haunts if its dry. Just to shake a few cobwebs out.

Mark knows his stuff mate & the bum dyno is a good one. That sort of poke in a 5 make one hell of a road/track car

Anger 18-03-2011 07:35 PM

Its a bitty laggy isnt it Nige :D

Someone had to be the first to say it ;)

Hongkongfooi 18-03-2011 07:40 PM

All the other bits that broke during the bad run on the rollers....all been fixed as well?

Nige 18-03-2011 07:41 PM

Ha! Ha! i was just saying to my other half wait for the lag comments. Its really not on the road though mate. Its a big grin all the way. From 14 to 17 takes no time at all so i hope your car will be on form for the Porsche bashing? Im sure it will be

All done & more mate thank's. Ive got some work to do just for my own pice of mind. Tidy this tidy that just to get it the way i like. As far as Germany is conserned the car is good to go

Anger 18-03-2011 07:55 PM

Nice one Nige, you just have to make sure its on boost and then there wont be any lag :)

I drove a VF35 Newage the otherday and couldnt believe how laggy it was compared to mine.... was like driving my work van lol

Nige 18-03-2011 08:06 PM

Dave told me how to use the launch thingy today {he didnt need to i knew it was there} Ive just never botherd with it. Now with all that poke i never will. Gearbox, diff, transfer box all adds up to ££££. Is the VF35 on the 2.5 ? :drive:

Anger 18-03-2011 08:08 PM

My best launch is 0-60ft in 1.54 secs without launch control... still waiting to see someone better that on road tyres :)

2.0 vf35

Nige 18-03-2011 08:12 PM

Jesus that's quick
Mmmm dont think i will bother with you off the mark mate. You can have that one
Paul like's a bit of that 1st gear stuff though so i will watch  He's looking for a passenger for the Ring trip. Keep you ears open.

Anger 18-03-2011 08:21 PM

I'll ask around, there was a couple arrr'ing and errrr'ing about taking there cars, so might be up for being a passenger

C. J. 18-03-2011 08:22 PM

Cool

old93ra 18-03-2011 08:57 PM

Mine was 450 ish at the flywheel Nige.....I stand corrected by my son who had it mapped at Mr Sheads it was about 440 WHP would have done more but the T67 wouldnt puff more than 1.8 although it held it pretty well. But it was quick....just down the road from me is Camtune my son had a set to with a 911 Turbo and it was bye bye.

It took a while for the brain to take it in, and to change gear without hitting the limiter...I had a greddy T67 on it. Ran out of puff at 1.8 .....Apart from the banana manifold cracking a few times it was totally reliable......In 2 years bugger all went wrong ......Brilliant car. My son is more the scooby person I still hanker after an RS:calm:everyone.:getmecoat:

Would be good as he is looking for blood! Mine that is. So if we can get him sorted with a passenger extra weight an all that would put a smile on my face. Paul has a Jimmy built 2.2 forged Coswoth Evo running a Gt35
He didnt like the kicking i gave him at Brands so now want's revenge BIG TIME! Paul as some of you Know like Anger is from the Drag scene & know's a thing or 2 about fast cars. Should be interesting this year  Any bet's?

Anger 18-03-2011 09:40 PM

Yeah Brads been keeping me up to date with Pauls build

C. J. 18-03-2011 09:54 PM

was still in bits last week, dont tell its running !

Nige 18-03-2011 10:02 PM

All built & has been for some Time Jimmy is so busy at the mo. Just needs to go back in the whole. Not long now. :drive:

C. J. 18-03-2011 10:09 PM

Great stuff Nige..:five:

I am so looking forward to the German roads now and watching you kick arse..

Trouble is I will now be so far behind you I wont see a thing..:cry::worthy::worthy:

Scott.T 18-03-2011 10:59 PM

Good results.
Peak torque may of shifted a bit to the right but it's generating a fair bit more at the lower rpm then the old setup.

I've never seen a RR plot with such a smooth lambda trace, there must be some serious filtering or low bandwith on that probe.

yeah...thats what I thought:wink:

Nige 19-03-2011 07:11 AM

One in the back for the RR one in the de-cat via Dave's lap top for the Motec & one for me in the car. :drive:

Anger 19-03-2011 08:13 AM

Yeah but only the RR one is showing on the graph isnt it

Chunk 19-03-2011 08:56 AM

Nice one mate

Cant complain at those figures

admin 19-03-2011 09:04 AM

Glad your happy with it Nige:ok: The smiles back on the face now then:nod:

Quick RR novice question:oops: Whats DIN corrected wheel power? Guess the figures corrected against some form of standard! but whats the figure used and what does it relate too? All ready knowing the answers going to be too technical for me:angst:

Anger 19-03-2011 09:55 AM

Have you seen them do any stock stuff Nige on the rollers to see how the rollers read to what the manufacturers quote.... Just wondering :)

worzel 19-03-2011 10:56 AM

Mate, thats brilliant news that it's all sorted. :ok:

Looks like it might be fairly quick that old thing. I think I might invest in some hooks and rope, as it looks like the only way I'm keeping up with you, is if I'm attached to the back of you!

Really chuffed for you mate :worthy:

Roll on Germany and some Porker bashing! :drive:

Yes mate seen quite a few Scooby's majority of them make less than there ment to. Some make more like Paul Egertons did. Watched an Rs Focus mk2 with a 380bhp atf kit on it cost him over £3k bloke was gutted as it made only 5bhp over stock. It worked out to 315bhp atf.there 310bhp atf std. Then ive seen it go the other way to James own car make 630bhp atw. He was beaten at 30-130 by another gtr with 80bhp atw less? R/R are a good tool for setting up the car. There's nothing better than the old bum dyno though. The Evo as it is now is the fastest car ive owned & out on the road with it today nice & dry its quick enough.
Weather it will make the same figures on a different dyno is another thing?
I'm happy with it power wise unfortunately i'm not happy with the twisty bit's. It's all over the place {or i am} so just need to sort it out again. I think i was at this same point last year.
