Nice garden..
|
That looks like a lovely place. :ok:
|
Thanks, but not as nice as a new STi
|
Think I need to brush up on my French, how do house prices compare with the UK?
|
Our house with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, new oak construction extension, new roof fully insulated and around 1 acre of land, about £220,000. Plus we have roads with zero potholes and very little traffic.
|
Time to book some evening classes, looks lovely.

|
Sounds good to me!!! :drive:

Thanks, may be we should have a meet over here. We could do bedrooms and camping. I could garantee some nice empty roads to drive.

Very interesting day. Went to the garage to see the car, looks great even covered in plastic and dust.It just happened to be the day that the President of Subaru France was visiting so was introduced and had a long chat with him. He said their main problem was actually getting hold of new Subaru's. Took the motorway home and coming of the slip road saw a car in the ditch. Stopped to check everyone was ok, which they were. Turned out to be an English couple who had left England early this morning and were on the way to a wedding. They were a bit shaken and didn't have much French so I stayed around to help with the recovery, police and organising a hire car, finally got home at 8pm. Have attached a few pics of car and hope to pick up Tuesday.

It needs to go back, the steering wheel's on the wrong side.
Other than that (and the wheel trims), it looks great. |
Looking good, great colour too ;-)
Did you notice the Capri in the background, I have a soft spot for them having had a 2.8i many moons ago. |
Looking good, would of hated being able to view it but not take it away...
|
They had 3 capri"s at the garage quite a surprise as never seen a capri in France before. Yes was crap seeing the car and not being able to drive it away, but at least it's here and I can collect in a few days.
|
Looking very good I bet you cant wait to have a drive..
|
looks mint! can't wait till you get it and can take some more pics e.t.c. :ok:
|
So have payed for the car by bank transfer, garage isn't open Monday so sorting the carte grise (logbook), number plates, etc Tues/Weds. Garage will ring Weds to let me know if I can pick up Weds pm or Thurs am. Nearly there.
|
Looks great - must be a relief to finally see it in the flesh and knowing it's not very long now before you have it in your possession.
Are those silver wing mirrors like mine, or protective covers? I can't quite tell as there are some odd shadows here and there. I'm thinking at some point I might order a set of colour coded for mine as I think I prefer them that way. |
Hi Mate,I think they are protective covers, seemed to be covers everywhere.I ordered the STi mats and they are fitting the LEDS they have in stock and ordering up the rest. The ones they are fitting are; LED T10 x 2 (I think these are the daylight running lights),Navette LED C3W x 2 and LED P13W x 1. Not sure what the last two are? Hopefully only 2 days to go!!!!

Interesting. T10/C3W aren't even mentioned in the manual though the T10 could be the W5W (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...ght_bulb_types) which are things like the licence plate/boot lights. But the P13W are the DRLs - if they can get those in LED I'd be interested in getting a few myself as I'm still missing those for mine. |
For the T10 its says;LED T10 Pastilles Canbus x 2, still can't work out what they are. If they can get bulbs you can't let me know and I'll order them and post on.

Let's see how they do when sorting yours out first - they may be ordering replacements like I did and then find they have the same problems that they don't fit. The best I've seen and guaranteed to fit are these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-MARS-Pe...YAAOSwd0BVy-b- which need to be smaller than the normal P13W you find because there isn't as much room in the fog light as other lights. |
Just had a call from the garage, picking the car up tomorrow at 15h00. Yippee.
|
Great news, only hope you can sleep well tonight, I know I didn't the night before I picked mine up.

Picked the car up yesterday, very pleased with the look and drive.Even running it in will be fun,as at 4,000 revs its quite lively. Spending a lot of time reading manuals to adjust all the settings ( thanks to Taomyn for help with this). Have attached the first few pictures.

Very smart - can't wait to see it in the flesh once we get around to a meet up.
Let me know if there's anything else you want to know - it's nice to have someone else on this side of the Atlantic to chat about the car with. |
Looks :10: :10:
Will you be getting any mud flaps ? |
Black's definitely the colour for this generation in my opinion.
Suits it perfectly. Hope you enjoy it, given the wait you've endured! |
Spot on Terry. Well worth the wait. Enjoy it mate.
