Re: My turbo

Nice one Wez, best 17's for a Scoob IMHO.
Should be fairly easy to tidy too...so will they be done Silver or Anthracite ????
Get 4 prodrive logo off ebay to whack on a spoke and will look v.nice

Here's one of my old ones. The Prodrive logo needs to be the correct font for the period. The current one is a thinner font

When you collect the wheels make sure they have the metal inserts mounted where the wheel nuts fit. This allows you to use stndard Subaru wheelnuts.
If they havn't they are not Genuine Prodrive supplied items, but Speedline supplied.
If they do not have the inserts you will need to get a set of Speedline Nuts which have the correct flange/taper.

The wheels are the same, just Prodrive/Subaru ensured the inserts where fitted for us with Subaru wheelnuts.

Re: My turbo

see this link : http://bbs.scoobynet.com/general-techni ... where.html

Funny enough I posted on here too... Mike Woods actually works at Prodrive and is involved/was invlolved in such upgrades.

another : http://bbs.scoobynet.com/wheels-tyres-b ... -nuts.html

it sounds like you just need to either call speedline or try a 'regular' non subaru set of nuts.

when I had a gold set of ST-2's these did not have the insert and hence came with a new set of nuts to suite.

Re: My turbo

Thanks mate they have the metal inserts but as it says on the threads you have posted they only use the bottom half of the taper so give the appearance of not fitting.Sorry for the poor pic's,the wheels are better then i expected very little curbing and mostly paint peel the pic is of the worse one.

Would look great on my wagon :10: Does it affect the handling of the front end much?

Loving the Capri by the way, I owned for a short time a 2.0L S MK II running about 150bhp

Went out to Culverwells Subaru today and round the bends at Whatlington it felt a lot more planted to the road.

I have not noticed any difference with the splitter and to be honest got it because it matches the rest of the trim and even's it up.

Re: My turbo

Well it's come a long way in a short time. The bug has bitten and had to play just had the front painted to get rid of the key marks and fog covers painted at the same time. Then went on the prodrive spoiler (Thanks for the tip Scott  ) so just the Apexi to fit and have mapped. So i think i have covered most of the mod's de-cat system, filter, apexi, rebuilt brakes, rear arb and links,st-2's,sti 6 splitter,Prodrive spoiler plus lot's of bit's   The budget form the capri has gone now but i am very pleased with how the Impreza has come out.

Re: My turbo

Cheers mate.....

I bought mine off ebay and the guy said that they came on RB5's but then again he did lie and say that the spoiler was as good as new, mine keeps on cracking, it is driving me crazy. I keep on repairing it... How much did you pay for the spoiler? I Might have to buy another one.......

Re: My turbo

Mine is a genuine Prodrive one it was £300 which seams to be the going price.I was lucky it did not have to be painted as it was in my colour. The guy i got mine off was great with the picture's and has the prodrive part no. on the bottom of one side.I know there was some fibreglass copy's going around.

Scooby Wez 06-09-2009 02:37 PM

Very nice. although I think you should paint the alternator bracket/cover as its showing up your nice engine bay!

Scooby Wez 06-09-2009 11:56 PM

Been thinking about that but what colour to do it ??? was think about doing them in the Blue mica to match the body.

Yep that would work, or black or red to match the hoses or gold to match the prodrve bits.....choices!

Scooby Wez 07-09-2009 06:51 PM

With the sun out today i thought i would go for the bracket painting.Repainted the brake stopper/boost valve bracket in red so they all matched up.Then took the top off the p/s pump and alternator cover did them red first and did not like it at all so want for a nice satin black.

where did you get your adjustable KYB AGX's from? i'm considering that route rather than coilovers but can't seem to find a decent priced supplier....

Scooby Wez 05-12-2009 04:35 PM

My ones came from a member on here have seen them on e-bay.I have Eibach springs as well and they perform very well on the road.

cheers. had a search for "kyb agx" on ebay and theres loads of results from overseas but nothing in the uk.... must be some companies in england who supply them easily enough :)

at nearly £600 for the shocks alone, then adding some decent lowering springs.... makes a set of BCs a bit of a no-brainer then....

Well i did get a good deal at £250 then.I looked around alot before i changed and from reading on other sites the kyb's came out the best for road use.The bc's are a good price but can not be bothered with all the set up as i doubt it will ever see a track.
