I'll bring a SES flag, so we can pop it up when on the seafront.
Just look for the tall Orange thing ;) |
anyone know how much parking is likely to be?
|
Not the cheapest to park down there, depends on how long you're staying.
1 hr - £3.20 2 hrs - £5.20 4 hrs - £10.40 11 hrs - £15.60 |
Isn't it free parking on Madeira Drive like the Ace Cafe thing a few weeks ago then?
|

Do you want me to bring my DA down and lend you? Or I have some good hand application "scratch X" I can try tomorrow onsite for you? Ryan |
Thanks mate but i'll probably get some scratch-x or equivalent this weekend, someone scratched the mondeo the other day too so got that to sort as well.

Didnt think it was a free for all parking! Thats gonna be a nightmare on a sunny saturday morning!!!
|
Well that's my interpretation of it anyway.... I'd like to be wrong but I'd be surprised if they've got a section of Madeira Drive closed off. The last Essex Scooby Crew run to Brighton I went on about 5 or 6 years ago ended up with us all parked up on the roof of Churchill 2!
Hopefully it won't be too bad as we should be parked up by about half 9. |
You'll be fine that time of the morning, particularly if you head up to the dukes mound end of Madeira Drive near the volley ball area. I think (don't quote me) it also cheaper to park that end too.
I'm now working but will try and get down there at some point as its only 5 mins from me. |
Is Mr Ginola going to Txt/Call when leaving M23 ?
Would be good if we slotted in together rather then with a random group. We would then hopefully all line up together on the prom. The Convoy from Pottage will be coming off the A23 onto the B2118/B2117 Hurtspierpoint, passed the Ginger Fox Pub, then left down towards our garden centre rendezvous point. |
- if someone wants to give me a shout for pease pottage group :ok:

Seen that number once before in an advert in a dodgy magazine... Nothing to do with Pease Pottage though... |
Lol, I'll give you a shout in the morning Ryan.
|
I've got a couple of other mates going down in there scoobies so I might pop down for a hour with the kids, in the s4 though so might see a couple of you down there
|
shall we stick together at the garden centre meet up then and head down as a crew of 11 or however many we have?

What not worth goin for a look or didn't even make it to Brighton???
|
Convoy decided to make a last minute alteration which lead to confusion on what to do about our meet point.
Long queues of confused scoobs at A23/A27 dyke road junction. I ended up in a huge convoy of 3 of which we were 2 of. Different routes were taken to seafront. Then to find Madeira drive closed, I assume for London to Brighton bike race setup (what's on in Brighton listed this for tomorrow so I had a feeling it would go to rats) Relocate to the Marina, lots of lost scoobs hooning about making us all look like dicks. I left at that point as hadn't bought the kids with me to walk around a multi-storey. Apparently it then relocated to East end of Madeira. I pity those that drove alot further than 36 miles along the cost. It just goes to prove why I try to avoid anything arranged on Facetweet. |

Cheers for heads up will give that one a swerve then |
Shame really as I was in a big convoy over Devil's Dyke, looked a massive turnout. But all went tits up when we got to the Madeira drive, loads of scoobs u-turning as it was closed then being told we're all going to the Marina car park. Apparently someone with a car too low managed to pull their front bumper off in there, but I didn't see it. Queued round the multi-storey with people revving their tits off making a load of fumes, to then be told that you could get into Madeira Drive from the Black Rock (east) end, and we should head there.
Once there, parked up for about an hour. At a guess probably 60-80 cars in there, so don't know where the rest were. Left by half 11 and popped up to see the in-laws (luckily also in Brighton). Can't believe that people on the facebook page were coming from as far as Leamington Spa and Milton Keynes... no thanks lol |
Indeed it was very disjointed once we got to Brighton - not planned well with bike race tomorrow and closed roads etc - but when did eventually did get parked up - some nice scoobs to look at but yes - organisation was pants...
|
organisation was definitely a bit rubbish, I did enjoy the nice big convoy and parking up to chat and see you guys. Some lovely looking scoobs out too.
future reference..... need to avoid Ginola and Conrad as they keep telling me about nice parts to buy!!!! lol |
Nice to see you guys and some lovely cars too, I thoroughly enjoyed it all and even the bit of confusion was a bit of fun for me lol, makes a difference from a boring day at work. Mike, Ginola has got me also thinking about a few bits.

Brighton run II - 20th June
Good to see those that came down quite a bit of chaos to be honest. I saw a few scoobs turn round and go home. But a lot of scoobs there none the less, even if some of them where all show and no go(not my bag!)
I liked the engine and the nice pedal/cage install on the black car Conrad linked above but you can keep all the extra body work tat! Except the bonnet that is actually functional ;) and isn't that manifold odd! |
