Happy to be of use for once. :)

Now looking at front splitters:doh:
|
Tricky to come by FSTi specific ones (japanparts have them), but I am given to believe the Hawkeye STi splitters can be adapted to fit on the facelift SG.
I've been toying with fitting one for quite some time. The official FSTi one can have a second part fitted to it so it is "thicker" (for want of a better word). I'll dig out a photo later of a friend of mine's. The only pic I have to hand has his plate showing, which he may not necessarily thank me for sharing. |
when you get time ron would you do some photos of your car.front, back and both sides.:ok:

hi ron, got my eyes on a silver 2.5 xt forester. you got any idea where too go for lowering springs and would it be worth sticking fatory sti exhaust on or a better complete non fatory one on. I did read somewhere the sti shocks and springs and tophats will bolt straight on. and then theres wheels, what get. they have 227bhp standard so would only want too get over the 250 mark. so would it be the same sort of stuff/mods as the saloon cars.
|
The XT PPP runs about 252bhp from memory, so your aim is very achievable.
A chap I know has a 2.5XT running 340bhp. 18 months on and still going strong... albeit with new head gasket! subaruforester.org is worth a look at, particularly the Europe section. Between them, the guys on there know most things. Oh, and the XT exhaust is a four piece, STi a three piece (similar to the classic). The standard STi system is hard to come by and not much of an upgrade, so I shouldn't bother. I do have a STi backbox you would be welcome to if you wanted to try it. Pretty quiet! |
cheers stig for your help. ill have a look at that site. I would be happy with the same bhp as my evo,but one of the main reasons that's going is 1 the dogs are going too wreck it and 2 I cant help myself keep booting it lol.

Ron, this looks amazing, especially with the XXR wheels. They were on my list when I was looking for new wheels for my Impreza; they look even better on the Fozzie. Very very envious. Love the Forester STi, what a clean and well cared for example though!

Small update
Hearse had its M.O.T. done at RCM recently and flew through with no advisories:drive: Whilst there a full service with all belts tensioners etc was completed too:nod: On the ramps the rear whiteline arb looked like a vintage example, found somewhere off the coast of sussex by the looks:shock: only bit not rusted up was the remnants of the sticker:shock: sooooo New RCM front and rear ARB's and drop links fitted:grin: Huge difference to how the car performed, however! after a couple of spirited drives, got underneath to check all was ok and noticed that the OE arb bracket(s) was rubbing on the new bar:cry: this combined with Bansteads thread regarding the OE arb mounts:shock: and the huge lateral movement on the bar:shock: decided to alter the rear a little underneath sooooo http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...ps66a6abed.jpg RCM rear 24mm bar (front 23mm) New drop links Whiteline alloy arb mounts:nod: Uprated rubbers Stainless steel lock collars and alls now good with the old girl, spirited drive over and back to Saywell/Goodwood at the weekend and all the lateral movement has gone, car feels so much more stable on the road now........ |
Looking good Ron...:ok:
Hope you are ok Ive tried calling you a couple of times. |

will call you when everything settled a bit:ok: |
Nice set of upgrades there.
Hope all goes well for your sister mate. Sounds highly unpleasant, but it's amazing what can be achieved with treatment these days. |

really sorry to hear this, hope everything is going well, You certainly have had a lot of things to deal with lately. :-o:-o You know where I am if want to pop over for a coffee.. :five: |
Well! as most people seem to know anyway:lol:
Forester now has a new owner:sadnod: Pretty much done a deal unseen on the new car, thats the joy of dealing with fellow SES members:doubleup: especially when you realise who the deal was with, you'll know all the car should need is a bit of a clean...... (his words..."I don't do cleaning" ) Always been something I wanted and for how old the car is.............. amazing how 'current' it would appear to be..... nice to have something that puts a smile on my face just sitting there:10: Not had chance to drive it properly yet but the experience of it so far a very promising:worthy: http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...9b8a1d9b57.jpg Looking forward to the ring trip 2015 and hope to get to a few more meets when things settle down:nod: |
James let the cat out of the bag early on.
Saw it at Brands earlier in the month, lovely motor, won't be quite as capable in the snow as the Scoobs were. |

Also had a look round it at Brands a few weeks back, looks very nice. Hope you're doing alright mate and see you at a meet sometime soon
|
How long before the crinkles in the number plate get sorted ?
|
Tee hee.
As soon as James said the Supra had gone and he had a new Scoob I was sure you two had done a deal. I'm glad the Hearse has found a good home. You've no idea how close I was to contacting you about it (I mean I've already got the wheels)... quite fancied his and hers FSTis. I'd quizzed Rich on it, then our central heating shat itself, so it obviously wasn't meant to be! |
I just hope you cleaned it enough to cover the next 12 months Ron !!!!
Maybe we could swap the Leggie for it back in due course haha. . . |
