Picked the car up this morning after five weeks to the day lol.
Very happy with the results, the gearbox feels lovely, I Haven't given it much of a test yet due to the new clutch which feels very weird (I've never had an new after market clutch before). I've been told the judder should wear off after a couple of hundred miles?? Also is it normal to get a lot of smell coming from the new clutch or is just me getting used to the different biting point?? Also found out that the gearbox was done by a company called G.E.A.R.S they're based in Merseyside but I think they do pick up and deliver though, Apparently they specialize in Scoobies and Cosworths. Maybe some use to someone in the future. |
glad to hear its all sorted bud!!
|
Brilliant! Glad it's all finally sorted for you mate :-)
|
Did you get the exeedy clutch in the end?
If so they can be a bit smelly, more so when reversing I have found.. |
Hi Ian,
I got a stage 2 competition clutch. I have no knowledge on clutches but Brent at SMD said that in he's opinion these are better (less judder). the smell was when i was reversing too so must be the norm then. |
Excellent news mate, uprated clutches can be a bit snappy and juddery if not worn in properly, just take it easy (easier said than done I know)
