WTF just phoned to get an update on my car and it's still sitting in Germany and I've to phone back on Wednesday for a estimated delivery date .

It can take several weeks before its recovered to the UK :(

That means loosing valuable prepping time for next years trip .

No, only takes a week or two to prep for trip, only reason the classic didn't come this year is I couldn't decide what wheels to put on it............... Honest.

Starting to get the DT's and itchy feet and on Tuesday is DDay for phone call about replacement engine if it's a good one or not .

Just got off the phone to the company that is delivering my car to me . I asked is there a date for delivery they said no well I replied that I have been informed the date is the 12th of this month they replied doubt that and I replied I've booked that day off work so get it sorted so they are going to phone me back .

Hope its not too much grief and they get it sorted for you mate! Make sure you give the car a proper checkover (inside and out) when you get it back before the driver leaves.

Don't worry about that Steve I took plenty of photos before I left and will be doing a major inspection to feel for any dents , marks and all that good stuff .

Deliverey day is Tuesday for car see if I can get engine delivered same day then woo hoo .

I'd go 2.0 or 2.1 as well, if you ever sell it it'll be worth more than if you go 2.5 as less people want them. If you putting £££ into the rebuild you might as well get it right ;)

If you go 2.5 get them to de stroke it using a 2ltr crank so in affect it's a 2.35
But it's your money

+1 the torque is nice from a 2.5 for the road but it's not really what you want on track or what people will want on resale.

A few hours to go already and car will be here let the wash and polish commence andphoned Mr Whitson he's already sorted I nice bottom end with 40k on it for me if I want it and just phoned him I'm having it woo hoo .

Lol well didn't stay in went out for a drive in the wife's new toy and I got to sort bottom end replacement so it was worth it .

I'm ready for snapping :boom:only takes 4 and a bit hours to drive from Nottingham and that was at 13:30 when I got the phone call to say she was on route she must be driving in reverse :rofl::rofl:

Well she has finally arrived on the phone to AA all my wheels are scrapped bloody fuming is an understatement
