Madness, thing of your carbon footprint

Actually, martyns doing the journey twice as well, belgium will need to plant another forest to neutralise the carbon emissions from his arse that week!

worzel 20-04-2012 11:43 PM

That forest would have to be the size of Russia to counteract that rank arse!

Hello Mr Tree Hugger - All going well we will have a pre ring drink at the harrow at some point, so can introduce you to a few then. They may pop there head into the forum and say Hi at some point, but it is a scoob forum and probably already a little conscious of invading a little.

Cars going are a classic wale tail 911 turbo running motec, EFI conversion, built motor 500+bhp/500+ftlb with no aids whatsoever. 2 stock V8 M3 coupes in black with matching private plates, and another 400bhp young stock porcshe 911 and my classic that will spank them all :). All geuine petrol heads, easy going guys that enjoy there cars for what they were meant for, either of similar age or older than me.

Crowman 26-04-2012 03:47 PM

What a fantastic selection of cars going this year

worzel 26-04-2012 03:57 PM

That is a lovely selection of cars coming down with you Rob

2 V8 M3's. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm nice :ok:

Nige 26-04-2012 04:14 PM

You say your classic will spank you bro's Porker? Im sure Simon said it was more around the 550bhp mark.
Them V8 M3's change gear like a bike & will stay with most things around the 500bhp mark. Im really going to miss my Evo this time around. As far as im aware this will be the 1st year the Evo's missed since 2006.
Never mind i can wave as you come past or just get in the way

Lazadude 26-04-2012 04:20 PM

Yep, Haven't heard a E92 V8, are they they actually audible or completely silences like the V6's were?

They make a beautiful sound. Not loud though on standard exhaust system, would love to hear one on a decent set of pipes

Swear there was a Straight 6 M3...?

My classic is very quick knocking close to 500bhp. But the porker is 440 at the wheels (RWD) and weighs even less than my classic, and is KIN quick. But has no power steering, No ABS, no traction control, and a 1980's chassis albiet with a few tweaks so its Handfull to say the least.

The guys in the V8 m3's originally had E46 M3's which as we all know are very capable cars, but the V8 E92's are a signficant leap forward again. I was often literally left for dust last year when I had my Z4 3.0 (240bhp).

So should be fun playing this year. Difference will be I will staring at my gauges, and worrying everytime I press the loud peddle about something going bang/pop/falling off with my Blue bits under the bonnet. But the M3's will just take what ever you can throw at them, and just wan't more, and travel in comfort during it all.

Lazadude 26-04-2012 05:34 PM

I have a feeling, the Autobahn is going to be fun in places :)

There was mate E36 & E46 were straight 6's. Why they missed out on E56 66 76 & 86 i dont know? We are now at E90's :five:

Lazadude 26-04-2012 06:32 PM

I've never understood the German naming conventions, Like why they miss out numbers, or dont follow a pattern. I'm sure there is some Logic to it, but I cant see it..

Look at EXX for Beamers, or the 99X numbers for Porsches..

Tell that to the white one tailgating me on the M23.... He was a small object very fast in my rear view ;)

Porsche deratatives is whats gets me, and always an endless source for me to wind up my brother :) To me they are all just 911's. But its a bit like calling a bog standard UK classic and a 22b .....a Scooby.

Autobahn should be fun, but I'll probably only be having the odd squirt, prolonged power runs have always ended in disaster for me. I'm Looking forward to the drive down and back and good company and a few pints and another tick off my bucket list more than the ring itself if i'm honest.

Can't wait bring it on...

Could we have a meet at yours and all muck in?

I make a good cup of tea.

Anger 27-04-2012 08:06 PM

It's more the money needed mate, still need to pay a few people's monies for bits and work done so far

worzel 27-04-2012 08:20 PM

That's a gutter mate! You said that last year though and just about did it.

The barge would be a comfy drive down though and would be no slouch on the autobahn :drive:
